Each Gratis Family Funday has a unlike art project based on the artists of the current exhibition, their subject thing, and their methods. Check out the photos and videos beneath to see some of the projects we've been making!
Cyanotpyes with local artist John Baker during the Edward Steichen photography exhibit; Ink Pouring Portraits during the Firelei Baez showroom; and Stained Glass-like landscapes during the Lawrence Lebduska exhibit.
The Mennello Museum of American Fine art volition be hosting Mean solar day of Art once again this year, and nosotros invite elementary, heart, and high schoolhouse students to come explore their creative side with us.
This year, complete your summer with a back to school art party at the Mennello Museum of American Fine art. With the museum all to themselves, participants and their friends volition create large calibration portraits of swirling ink silhouettes, write their own verse, and tear up books while exploring fiber arts in projects inspired by artist on display, Firelei Báez. All of the art volition exist set up to take home and show off on the first 24-hour interval of school.
Monday, July 29th will be open registration for all Uncomplicated aged students and Monday, Baronial 5th will be open registration for Eye Schoolhouse aged participants. High Schoolhouse students will have the opportunity to volunteer with these historic period groups, assisting the teacher while creating and inspiring aslope the younger students. Both days activities will be led by artist, Lourdes Figueroa. Activities will begin at 8:30AM and students will be ready for pickup at v:30PM.
Finally, this year we will accept Teen Takeover for ages 14-18 years from 12 – 4PM on Sabbatum, Baronial 10thursday. Teens will have the opportunity to write poetry, create ink pour portraits, and work on paper before returning to school. This group will too take the chance to contribute to a big calibration community painting equally part of the plan as well. High Schoolers will be inspired by the individuality and power of the image and history portrayed by New York artist, Firelei Báez.
Elementary and Middle schoolhouse sessions are $45 for Mennello Museum members, and $50 for general public. Teen Takeover is a free event. Registration is open and space is limited with a maximum of fifteen students each solar day.
Educational programming at the Mennello Museum of American Art delivers access to captivating American art of all genres through permanent collections, also as renowned curated and temporary exhibitions. Whether through lectures given by world-renowned and established artists the likes of Firelei Báez and Bo Bartlett, docent-guided tours for schoolhouse-aged groups or seniors, Toddler Tuesdays, the museum'southward workshops and special programming are designed to ignite personal connections to exhibitions and the exploration of fine art. We attempt to appoint all individuals who come through the doors in participatory learning of the visual arts. We seek to advance their confidence in discussions around the exhibitions and inspire creativity in personal life and art making.

The Mennello Museum of American Art, endemic and operated past the Metropolis of Orlando, is located on the beautiful shore of Lake Formosa in Orlando's Loch Haven Cultural Park. Grounds for Exhibitions − Inaugural Outdoor Exhibitions Series
On view since September 2016
The Mennello Museum inaugurates Grounds for Exhibitions with ii large-scale works by American sculptor Alice Aycock installed in the Marilyn L. Mennello Sculpture Garden. The cute works, Waltzing Matilda and Twin Vortexes were originally function of a series of 7 sculptures in Aycock's pregnant outdoor exhibition on Park Avenue in Manhattan entitled Park Avenue Paper Chase. Grounds for Exhibition features year-long large-scale sculpture exhibitions by nationally renowned American artists who otherwise would non be shared with Orlando audiences.
Shannon Fitzgerald states: "Information technology is thrilling to inaugurate this outdoor exhibition program with such beautiful work by Alice Aycock, ane of America'due south most recognized and respected sculptors of her generation. I think visitors will delight in experiencing the stunning sculptures nestled in our lakeside mural that challenges perspective, materiality, whimsy, and nature—in all its power and fragility.
